Architect Jarvis Hunt (1864-1941) won acclaim for his design of a Pompeiian villa for the Colombian Exposition of 1892. Hunt's later works include the original buildings of the Great Lakes Naval Training Station, now on the National Register; Chicago Golf Club Clubhouse; Newark Museum in Newark, New Jersey; Kansas City Union Station; Lake Shore Athletic Club and many others.
